From the seventh to the eighth of March, the Dubai Opera hosted an important event, the WE Convention. Women worldwide shared their inspiring success stories and had an unforgettable weekend. The international women’s organisation Women’s Empowerment Council hosted the event. Their mission statement is to develop women’s leadership and entrepreneurship through training, motivation, and networking. Over one thousand two hundred guests attended the WE Convention from over fifty countries.
The forum featured sixty-five international speakers from fourteen countries. They included supermodel and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova, model Maye Musk, the Women’s Empowerment Council president Mila Smart Semeshkina, the founder of DailyWorth Amanda Steinberg, UAE’s first female aviation engineer Suaad Al Shamsi, entrepreneur Tatiana Bakalchuk and many other successful women. In addition to speakers’ talks, discussion panels and seminars, guests were also treated to a start-up stage, where businesswomen presented their start-ups to a broader audience.
The second part of the event was a gala dinner at the Armani Hotel, where female leaders from various industries – from EdTech to media and finance – gathered together. Besides business networking, the gala included a fashion show by major brands.
The WEC conference began a new tradition and series of events that will provide even more women with valuable experience and the opportunity to realise their potential in the profession. What’s more, the Women’s Empowerment Council plans to launch other projects soon. Follow the news on its official website.
